Dear LRC Community,
Whether one is Christian or not, or even religious, the message of the birth or emergence of a savior during the heart of winter, in times of duress, of great need, is a story told across cultures, as the constant rebirth of hope, clarity, and succor.
In these times of heightened racism, anti-immigrant sentiment, and the championing of war, violence, and intimidation, gratitude for what we have in each other’s friendship, courage, and kindness, is all the more medicinal.

Thank you to all who joined us at the Latinx Research Center for our vibrant Día de los Muertos celebration on October 30. Together, we honored and remembered our loved ones while sharing culture, tradition, pan dulce, chocolate caliente, and meaningful conversation before and after the screening of La Ofrenda: The Days of the Dead (1988) by the Bay Area's late Chicana queer filmmaker, Lourdes Portillo.
